My Five Things

May 15, 2020January 1, 2021 patchworkmomma9 Comments

Recently I've seen this "tag" on other WordPress sites that I follow. I enjoyed reading Vee and Rebecca's responses. No one has tagged me but I feel inspired to write a post anyway. I don't know what all of the original categories were. It seems each blogger adapts the prompt a little to suit themselves,… Continue reading My Five Things

Are you ready for what's coming? I'm happy to wrap this decade up and move on to the next one. As #Manifest20 comes to a close, I'm feeling hopeful about the new year. I've slipped behind on my posts over the holidays so this is a quick catch up. I'll reply to the rest of… Continue reading End of Year Reflections

Day One #Manifest20: Create

Choose one word which you would like to embody during 2020 as a sort of theme for the year. How would you like to see this word manifest in your life? Create is my word for 2020. Over the last few months I've devoted more time to my creativity and it has brought me a… Continue reading Day One #Manifest20: Create

Coming Unstitched

You may have seen it before: an adult display of absolutely childish behavior.  If you’re a parent, or have parents yourself, you’re bound to have witnessed what can only be described as a Mommy Meltdown. A woman can only handle so much. (Not to say that dads don’t have their fair share of tantrums too,… Continue reading Coming Unstitched

Can you tell by his smile that he was happy to return to preschool today after the 2 week spring break? Mom enjoyed some me time too. I felt much better after exercising this morning for the first time in a month. (Although someone recently posted a pic of a project bag with the caption “knitting is my cardio.” I wish! 😂) When we got home this afternoon his new sleeveless sweater was finished drying so he could try it on. He loves it. 🥰 The vest even got the “not scratchy” seal of approval. The yarn is 100% merino DK. I’m happy with the size 4-5 years fit and think he’ll get lots of use out of it. Slowly it’s warming up outside but there’s still a chill in the West Cork air.
I’m in my knitting groove this bank holiday Monday. I finished a shawl Saturday and blocked it today. Almost finished with this boys sleeveless sweater. While my family is out walking and I have the house to myself, I’m thinking about casting on something new... or should I keep finishing my other WIPs since I’m on a roll? I hope you’re finding time to relax and do what you enjoy today too. #knittingisthenewyoga #knittingismytherapy #knittersofinstagram #knitknitknit #bipocmakers #bipocknitters #blackknittersofinstagram #knittersoftheworld #knittingmom #handknit
I love celebrations and seasonal holidays. It was special having 5 of our kids together for our Easter meal today, although we missed one son because he was working. Blue skies, sunshine, and togetherness made it a near perfect day. #celebrationring #easterdecor #waldorfinspiredhome #slowsunday #blendedfamily #spring #allyearround

The egg tree is up and it’s starting to feel like Easter around here. 🐣 We’ve enjoyed stories about the Golden Goose and other activities in Eggs, Birds and Nests by @ayearandadaymag.
