If you’re celebrating this year, I just want to wish you a Happy Easter from my family to yours. We were blessed with beautiful weather yesterday and had our first BBQ of the year. I enjoyed gardening and reading a lighthearted novel in the sunshine. (Finally had a reason to wear my groovy new sunglasses which won’t appear at a festival any time soon).

Happy Hour

We spent the last few days decorating eggs and preparing for the holiday. I wouldn’t recommend the natural dye kit we bought. It was eco-friendly and ticked the right boxes, but the colors weren’t great. I loved the flower fairies though. I’d like to make our own for the nature corner sometime. This year I was lucky I could order a few from Conscious Crafts.

I also found the china bunny my bonus mom gave me one year. Blessing enjoyed putting our seasonal corner together. This time last year we celebrated Easter on a beach in Koh Lanta, an island in Thailand. Our little one won’t remember that trip or this Easter spent in quarantine, but we will have photos and memories to tell him about in years to come.

Speaking of photos and memories, I found this image this week. It’s an Easter bunny my daughter drew on the wall 11 years ago when she was 4. I didn’t mind a bit. Back then I was more relaxed about wall art… She’s pretty cute, huh?

Four of our children were missing from today’s celebration. While we missed family members who couldn’t be with us this year, we enjoyed the holiday for what it was. I’m grateful for my entire family, for springtime, for our health and all of our blessings. I could have done without listening to my daughter’s “Taylor Swift’s greatest country hits” playlist at full volume this evening but hey. If torturing me makes her smile now and then I guess I can deal with it.

Wishing you and yours a peaceful night!

  1. Sounds like a lovely day 🙂 You’re shades are kick ass, very groovy! Loved “Where’d you go Bernadette” such a quirky book, the movie wasn’t too bad. Hugs to you all

    1. Thanks, Mare! Yes, the way it’s written is quirky for sure. I’m enjoying the humor. It’s one of the books I bought to share with my daughter during quarantine. Neither of us has seen the movie yet. I hope you and the gang are all enjoying springtime.💐
